I teach Personal Finance, Management Principles, and Business Tech Applications. My classes spend the majority of their time on computers. One-third of my class typically has ADD/ADHD. I have found that if I give them 5 minute "Brain Breaks," they can return to their assignments and complete their tasks for the day. I have several different types of activities my students can do during their brain break. Since I began giving my students Brain Breaks, I have seen my students go from feeling frustrated and unable to complete assignments to willingly sitting back down and completing the task at hand. My students use the stress balls and fidget cubes and spinners to get their mind off their classwork.
