All of my smart cookies love hands-on activities during reading and math centers. Our class has a limited supply of these materials for daily use. We use center rotations daily to build essential foundational skills and concepts.
With these new materials, my students will have the opportunity to choose center materials appropriate for their individual level of development.
These selected materials including letter stamps, ink pads, magnetic letters, wikki sticks, learning locks, word builders, and alpha sketch will reinforce focus standards including letter recognition, sounds, and sight words. Materials such as number locks and math trays will reinforce counting and sorting skills. Write and wipe pockets are used for both reading and math. The Colors of Us book and people colors crayons help us celebrate our uniqueness as we write and illustrate class books. The materials will help students achieve their individual learning goals and be successful, engaged kindergartners. The classroom will come alive with the buzz of productive kiddos at work!
