I have requested games and puzzles for the students to use during our classes to help develop appropriate social and communication skills. All of the students have a disability and need extra practice with social skills. The items requested will allow the students to practice what is taught during class (ie. turn taking, problem-solving, etc) before they have to apply it to real-life situations. The students will also learn how to make and keep friends through the use of social and communication skills. All people like to have friends...even those with special needs. These experiences will allow my students to have richer, more fulfilling lives.
