All of my students want to participate in team activities. Sometimes the activities require markers or pencils, and the students don't have the materials to participate. If our class had sufficient supplies, they would be able to do more drawings, posters, writing. Some of my students have to wait a long time for the marker to be passed around in order for them to participate. Due to a short supply of materials they have to wait a long time to participate, which shortens their time engaging in the activity and has them miss out on the shared learning experience. Additionally, time spent looking for a pencil, or waiting on a marker, makes the class lose instructional time, which could be used on a fun activity. My 9th graders have asked me to incorporate more artistic activities that include drawing, writing and poster projects. I would love to give them the opportunity to be creative if I had sufficient supplies.
