My students need a larger carpet. We can not all fit on the carpet that we have currently. We will use this carpet every day over 5 times a day. We spend most of our time on the carpet. We begin each day with a morning meeting. It is a time where we can come together on the carpet to spend time interacting with one another. Morning meeting gives us an opportunity to build a strong sense of community, and set up our students for success socially and academically. This carpet will make a huge impact by allowing space for my students to sit comfortably. A larger carpet will give us the ability to sit together as a classroom family and collaborate with one another. Currently, some of my students are having to share spots or sit on the tile floor. Which, is not ideal for optimal learning.
