My students deserve to be in a space where they feel supported in their learning. Through flexible seating, students are encouraged to learn and create in a space that is comfortable and meets the needs of all the diverse learners in my classroom. Bouncy balls will be substitute for traditional table chairs so students can feel more comfortable during math and writing blocks. Our couch and comfy floor are ideal during our independent and partner reading block. Additionally, students will be able to work comfortably work independently with the several alternative seating options set up in the classroom. Flexible seating is a great way to not only ensure students are comfortable in the classroom, but it can also promote creativity and a sense of belonging in the classroom. With my diverse students in my inclusive classroom, I strive to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to succeed. Flexible seating is just the beginning to a amazing year we are going to have in 2nd grade.
