I have selected books for the classroom along two themes. First, we need more culturally relevant stories about children dealing with the challenges that they do. My students are learning English and trying to adjust to a new culture. Many of the books we request have this subject matter. Secondly, we are requesting books in Spanish. Teachers from all over our school send students to me asking for books in Spanish. I only have a handful. Please help me expand the collection so English learners can understand the literature being discussed in class. With a chance to read the book in their native language, they can better understand the English concepts and participate in the classroom. Thank you!
