I am the fortunate teacher of fifteen rising fifth graders. They were such an amazing group of kids I decided to follow them to the next grade! Our school is Title I and in a high-poverty area. Approximately ninety-three percent of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Our school district has been hit hard by economic shortfalls. This has resulted in a lack of engaging reading materials being made available. My students and I refuse to accept this!
