My Students need a challenge, here it is: Integrate technology in mathematics, show me! Currently we have access to Google Chromebooks once a week and it is not nearly enough! With the use of the Samsung Kid Galaxy Tablets I want to challenge my students to work collaboratively, to build models and to fnd solutions to real world math issues. My students will use of online resources as: digital number frames, number lines, number racks and pieces to accomplish this (mathlearningcenter.org). Furthermore, with the use of the tablets students will be able to demonstrate their collaborate effort by recording both their oral discussions and tablet screen work with an app such as Screen recorder. This will allow them to share with me as the instructor and their classmates. Adding the digital component challenges student to create meaning of various mathematical challenges on a digtial platform. Where it would be amazing to have a 1:1 device class I would be so grateful to begin with a few tables for collaborative projects!
