Currently, our program has very limited offerings for students who are interested in programming or engineering. Students who are want to pursue these fields currently need to find mentors outside of school to help the. LEGO Mindstorms will give our students an accessible way to explore those interests, while also helping them develop creativity, critical thinking skills, communication, and collaboration. Our program has time built into the schedule for students to explore their interests; we can rotate small groups of students who are interested in STEM through LEGO Mindstorms activity periods. Also, students could use Mindstorms to build artifacts related to their trimester projects.
