Students cannot afford headphones. I use headphones in every class. I will have students watch short videos and take notes. If some students do not have headphones their work suffers. They are able to concentrate better. For my students that have problems with reading, I have them watch videos with the captions on. They are then able to hear and see the words to increase their compression abilities. I have also found that some of my students prefer to listen to music in order to focus on their work. These students like to work independently and they produce better work when given the chance to listen to music.
