The Big Books that I would like for my classroom will enhance my students' reading instruction. It will be easier for my kindergarten students to engage during story time using big books. I plan to be intentional using the big books during story time or when focusing on a comprehension skill. I plan to use the big books to "hook" my students with the love of reading. I believe that reading is the foundation to academic success! The research is clear, reading to child out-loud improves vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. My wish list are Folk-Tales and Science big books. I plan to integrate literacy, writing, and art. As a result, I will maximize instructional time with your donations (big books).
