Research has shown great improvements in students attention and engagement when they are offered flexible seating options. Especially students that come from low-income households. I want to be able to give my students a classroom that is comfortable and feels safe. During independent work times, students will get the options to freely make choices about where they focus and learn best with these flexible seating choices. I have chosen some great flexible seating options for all types of learners. The Teepee tent allows for students that like small spaces to get cozy and focus without distractions. The lap desks will give students that tend to move around a lot a chance to sit and move on the floor. while working. The wiggle bands for the bottom of students chairs help students with ADHD move their bodies in a less distracting way, keeping students around them focused as well. I have seen how choice can positively effect students learning and it is my hopes that my students get the same opportunities to grow and learn with these choices.
