This project will touch the hearts and lives of the students in my music classroom as they discover numerous elements that go into songwriting. The students will study poetry and storytelling, which is essential for songwriting, as well as the lives and composing techniques of past musicians, such as Mozart, Beethoven, The Beatles, and so much more. They will also discover the countries and lifestyles of musicians--both past and present--in addition to obstacles they had to overcome. They will then use the materials to create their own compositions, using poetry, meter, tonality, and music symbols, which they will share with fellow peers, parents, and members of our faculty.
