This will give me the opportunity to teach small group instruction that will cover reading skills and social studies subject matter. This aligns with our first grade standards. Small group instruction is imperative for all the different levels of readers in the classroom community. I look forward to each child in the group to have the experience of holding a book and exploring its content. First grade students are like sponges when given engaging material. Weather and its effects on humanity are important concepts for our younger students to be exposed to and understand. They are our future and knowledge is power. Building my small group library with fiction and non-fiction materials will allow my students to explore concepts and things they may never explore outside of our classroom community.
