Most of our students do not have access to outdoor space in which to grow vegetables, herbs, etc. I feel that having the hydrophobic setup in my classroom, it will allow students to see how you can grow/harvest fresh foods without a large space. BY DONATING TO MY PROJECT, YOU WILL NOT ONLY HELP TO IMPROVE AND INCREASE STUDENT KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHY EATING HABITS, IT WILL ULTIMATELY HELP TO INCREASE THEIR AWARENESS OF THE DIFFERENT HERBS AVAILABLE TO THEM. Students who use the setup will learn to be responsible for their own "garden". This will not only build their self-esteem, it will also make them more aware of their environment and how to make the most out of limited spaces.
