Ignacio Estrada once said, "If a child can't learn the way we teach; then we should teach the way they learn." That is exactly what this will provide for society's at-risk youth. These Chromebooks will embrace the technology driven world these children are born into. This will give students the opportunity to not only lessen the carbon footprint left on the world by going paperless, but to give students the skills needed for an advancing society. Additionally for students that struggle with executive function, this will help organize them into one place to become more successful in the classroom rather than misplace/loose material. Currently students are minimally exposed to "Google Classroom" where they have the opportunity to collaborate simultaneously with teachers and peers and enhance their learning through writing conferences, presentations, text-marking, etc. on more engaging web based platforms. This ultimately sets students up to become college and career ready with the more exposure they have with systems such as this. They also have the opportunity to explore the outside world and cultures that many students would not have realized existed if not for the wonderful world wide web. Students with disabilities will also have the opportunity to listen to audio through text to speech extensions that are available these Google Chromebooks without having to be singled out from the other students. My vision to embrace the world yet to come for these students could not be possible with out these Chromebooks. This will provide the level of technology needed for them to excel in reading and writing.
