My students need to read every day. We no longer have a librarian employed at our district, and our library hasn't ordered new books in years. Children need books in their hands, and they should read at least 20 minutes a day. Currently, this is very difficult because we are low on books, especially new ones. Many of my students are multiple levels below grade level in reading. Many students are in special programs. I have two bookshelves in my classroom, and I would like to fill up two more with books my students are excited about reading. They need books.
