These materials will make a difference in my students’ learning and improve their school lives, by incorporating scientific based research materials (supplemental worksheets and games) that are designed to help students who have been introduced to essential reading concepts, fundamentals of social skills, and basic math computations, but still need further practice to reach mastery levels. These materials will also assist the teacher in having readily available, and relevant materials to use to adapt to students’ academic needs, who have been identified with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and master individualized goals. Struggling readers are sure to benefit from these materials that will motivate them to improve in their reading comprehension skills. They will learn to apply comprehension strategies so that they can understand and retain the information they read. The social skills activities and games, will allow interactive and hands-on group activities, that will allow the students to learn skills from making friends, being a good friend, resolving disagreements in a win-win way, problem solving, knowing their hot buttons, positive self-talk, reducing stress, talking out conflicts, relaxation, controlling their impulses, good decision making skills, and avoiding actions that are detrimental to themselves and others.
