The rug that I chose is very fitting for the art room, because of the variety of shapes and colors incorporated into it. It is similar to the work of Wassily Kandinsky's Concentric Circles. This is an artist that relates well to young students and I teach my kids about him. The students will be able to compare the rug to the artwork that they have viewed and created themselves. We are not just a school filled with students; we are a community of artists. Having a rug in the art room will help to bring the students together and closer to me during instructional time. This will enable students to focus more intently on the content at hand as well as create a warm and caring environment.
