Social emotional learning is an integral part of our academic day. With a global pandemic these skills have never been more important. Through learning about social and emotional skills, my students will become more resilient as they learn how to deal with the effects of trauma or adverse events that are happening in their lives. I am requesting social emotional learning resources to set them up for future success. I have requested hands-on activities to promote the meaning and understanding of emotions. The read-aloud books are a great way to foster self-management, self-awareness, social-awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making skills. Not only will the books provide SEL, I hope that they will foster a love for reading. Yoga cards will allow students a way to be calm and release energy in order for them to focus on the academic tasks in the classroom.
