I desire for my students to become innovative thinkers and I want to provide opportunities to foster this thinking. Students in my classroom just recently heard the word "coding." I have been exposing my students to coding on code.org and participated in the hour of code. Now I want to take it to the next level and have them do hands on coding with the Dash robots. Students would be able to code Dash with an iPad. Not only are they coding, but also learning problem solving skills as they go!
Learning to code is the best shot my students have at success in the 21st century and it must start with hands-on play at a young age.Dash robots are great for the most inexperienced student to those who have mastered coding. I can incorporate Dash into many of my Science and Math lessons as well! Such as teaching perimeter, area, ordered pairs, angles, solving puzzles, as well as STEM projects.
My students need to be exposed to computer science and coding activities. This is the future for our kids! I am trying to prepare my students for a world that we cannot imagine! These benefits of learning coding at a young age helps kids to gain advantages in thinking, processing and communicating.
