If each student has access to a Chromebook in our classroom, standardized learning will be at full capacity and the students will be able to work through each unit at his/her own pace rather than expecting each child to learn each standard in the same amount of time. Every student learns and comprehends things in different ways and all students learn at a different pace. By using Google Classroom, our students can have options of how they want to learn instead of a completing a worksheet or copying down words from a marker board that can be easily lost or thrown away. We have a classroom full of 30 children ages 8-9. These kids rock at math and we use Google Classroom daily to administer entrance slips, a standard board that gives the children choices of what to do after work that is based directly on state standards, and also other fun choices that are printable. The students work on units at their own pace and completed work is checked off as finished on Google Classroom. Google classroom allows us as teachers to be able to get data sent directly to us from quizzes, websites, and other things the students complete. This is very convenient and also allows us to do more instruction rather than worrying about grading things to hand back to students. We can easily print out reports to send home to parents or to let the students see how they are doing. In order to be able to do this and use Google Classroom daily, we must have a classroom set of chrome books for the students. 10 chromebooks will be a great start toward our goal.
