Research has shown that when students use their bodies in the learning process, it can have a big effect, even if it seems silly or unconnected to the learning goal at hand. Flexible seating in my classroom will encourage students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive. These seating options allow them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused. Please help me to get my students flexible seating to increase the best chance for learning in 2nd grade!
