Have you ever had to sit in a hard, stationary chair for multiple hours a day for 180 days out of the year? Did you feel like you had an itch that you just couldn't scratch and wanted to wiggle right out of that chair? These are the feelings that I don't want my students to struggle with as they are trying ever so hard to learn. My students know that they have the freedom to move during instruction; however, one student's version of focusing may be distracting to others. I want my students to be able to focus on reading a chapter book with confidence and expression or solve a math equation rather than focusing on scratching their "itch" to move. Would you consider helping me provide an appropriate outlet for my students to move while working? Wobble chairs will help initiate my students' active bodies and active minds!
