Having the Surface Pro will increase student engagement and collaboration because I will be able to teach from any location in the room. This device allows me to be more accessible so students become more likely to ask questions. For example, it’s possible to show a PowerPoint presentation on the projector using the Surface Pro 4, then use the pen to quickly ink in details. It also allows me to quickly add color, images, and videos to any lesson. This is beneficial to students as it makes the lesson less abstract and makes my class time with them much more efficient. In addition to this, I am also able to demonstrate the TI-Nspire handheld calculator without being tethered to my desktop. I can move around from student to student more easily assisting them at their desks. With the Surface Pro I can bring my teaching to my students. I can save what we do in each class and share it on OneNote so students have the material from class to refer back later during homework or to review for an exam. This is a major asset to students who are absent.
