My students love to code! They find coding a way to show their smarts and thinking. It's been wonderful doing beginning coding with my younger students, but I'm want to give them more visual and tactile manipulatives for the variety of learning abilities and styles they have. I'm requesting Osmo Gaming kits and Osmo Awbie sets for new and challenging hands-on coding fun. Osmo is a powerful hook because children love technology that's visual and asking them to "think out of the box". I'll set up the Osmos in learning centers for all my students, including our English Language Learners (ELLs) and Special Needs. Students can work independently or in small groups to learn coding algorithms and programs. Osmo also helps teach mental math and vocabulary recognition. Awbie has large colorful pieces that children use with the iPad tablets for coding challenges. I know these Osmo gaming sets will give my coding classes new and challenging hands-on activities that will make a difference to so many deserving children.
