Listening skills are important in life. There is a difference between hearing and listening. In kindergarten, we focus on the importance of listening. With listening centers involving headphones, I could help my students increase their listening comprehension level. I think that children need to focus on listening skills at the elementary level now more than ever before! It has been said that listening has three parts to it: (1) hearing the speaker, (2) understanding what the speaker is saying and (3) making a judgment based on that understanding. With a set of headphones, I could broaden my classroom listening and technology center.
