My students will be able to create music with our music curriculum with tablets individually and in groups. Allowing my students the opportunity to individually create music gives them a sense of pride that they wouldn't otherwise get through just listening.
Technology in the music classroom is vital for the students to understand music better and to appreciate the music they hear in the community. In today's world, music is created and listened through computers, tablets or other technological devices. I want my students to be able to understand how to use technology in the music classroom to listen and to create their own music using the Quaver Music Curriculum. In 4th grade, students create a Rap, writing poetry and putting it to music. In 5th grade, students create a fictional product for a Commercial Project. They learn the two key musical elements for a commercial: a jingle and background music. Tablets in the classroom will allow my students to create their Raps and Commercial Projects without having to wait for the school's Chromebook cart availability.
