I have requested items to create an inviting learning environment for my third grade students. I would like to have a lot of options for students to choose from when they are learning, doing independent work, or doing group/partner work. My goal is to create a safe and warm area in my classroom for students to do their best work. I think it would be a good idea to have floor mats for my students to work on. They are more comfortable than a cold, tile floor for students to sit on. My students would also be able to sit on bean bag chairs, along with other flexible seating options in my classroom. In my requests, I have also included a wood mailbox. I believe this is the easiest way to hand out important papers. It teaches students to be responsible and to check their mailboxes twice daily.
