Coding and problem solving are basic literacy skills needed in the digital world, and it is important for students to understand and be able to work with each other, fail and try again. Getting girls interested in coding is a major victory for this age group and having all students learn coding before high school better prepares them for a path in Computer Science. Coding helps students with communication, creativity, math, writing, and confidence. Coding is essential to help students thrive in a future driven by technology. When you teach coding, you also teach skills like critical thinking and problem solving. I will use the materials to introduce Coding and Problem Solving to my students. They will explore different resources to help them become critical thinkers, persevere through failure, as well as, peak their interest in Computer Science.
