Adding 6 Chromebooks to the KC classroom would have an enormous impact on the educational resources that are available to our students. Our school in particular utilizes the applications Imagine Learning and ST Math, which have been shown to improve academic progress in the subject areas of literacy and mathematics, respectively. Our hope is to increase the number of students that are able to access the applications on a regular basis, as our school does not have many resources in regards to technology. We are specifically asking for Chromebooks because of the spatial constraints in our classroom. Without question, our students would immediately benefit from the new technology and would be on the path to closing the achievement gap that exists in Lawrence. Many students do not have access to these pieces of technology at home due to the economic disadvantages of our community, which makes this gift even more meaningful. We are sincerely grateful for every contribution and thank you for helping us work towards educational equity in Lawrence.
