I am trying to create a flexible seating classroom for my students to be able to decide how they sit and what they sit in or on. In my room, students will be introduced to various types of seating throughout the room. Students will be able to sit, kneel, wiggle, and lean to help release energy while learning. By having flexible seating students are more comfortable, relaxed and focused. Students that have the the choice of seating are more engaged and willing to participate. I am requesting floor seating as an option in my classroom. This will help learners who feel they will be more engaged by sitting on the floor. This will help differentiate for my students according to their needs. My goal is empower all types of learners by giving them choices in what will work best for their educational process.
