2nd grade is such a crucial time where school can become a love or hate thing for students. I have done my part by making a warm and welcoming room to make them feel loved. I now need some help in the technology department. Each year, students are more comfortable using technology and I would like to use that to my advantage! Many students are very familiar with iPads, or some other type of tablet, at home, so why not connect them to their education. Unfortunately, we don't have any iPads in my classroom. There are so many apps that we could be using every day to enhance student learning and confidence with learning! My students will be able to have some control in their education. iPads give students a hands-on approach where they are in charge. I plan to use the iPad for many different things. I can see us using it for remediation in Math and Reading, for early finishers, small groups, and even writing projects. Also, my school is in the process of becoming a STEAM school, so I'd love to find some ways to use it to boost STEAM activities.
