I chose to pick books for my project to fill my classroom library! I am a first year teacher and, unfortunately, do not have many books for my students to read. There are many times during the day that we have books in front of us. Whether it is silent reading, small group instruction, whole groups instruction, etc., books of all kinds and levels are being used! In order to keep my students engaged and to continue their growth, I need to provide them with new books that cover new content and interests. My project will make a difference by providing my students with books that will interest them and will help them become stronger readers. Sadly, my students are now running out of new books to read. Most of the books I have are lower level books that have been picked over and handed down for many years. Although I am grateful for the many donations of books I have received, I need to be able to provide books for my students that will help them continue to grow and succeed. I would like to provide many different leveled books for my students to be able to reach them all.
