This year Math has been a struggle for my students. The concepts they are learning are a lot more difficult and 90% of my students are ESL learners. That means that they struggle with just the use of the directive part of learning. The manipulatives help them to visualize concepts like regrouping, time, and money and would better promote the experience part of learning. Many of them come from households of parents who are unable to provide them with the extra when it comes to learning the Math concepts in 2nd grade. These tools will help to build better understanding.
