Many students were remote last year and this is their first experience in a school building. Although technology is a great resource with an abundance of books, students need books to hold in their hands. They are learning to turn pages and track words with their special reading finger. Our students also enjoy bringing home books to read with their families! Emergent readers need high interest, engaging books with characters who look like them! Our students love to book shop in our classroom library, but there isn't enough lower level books for them to enjoy reading. We want our students to develop a love of reading and an interest in books at a young age!
