After teaching Kindergarten for twenty years I am moving up to First Grade. I am super excited to be building on the curiosity and thirst for knowledge that I saw last year. My students love making their own decisions and working at a pace that fits their needs. I am focusing on using more technology during independent learning time and have purchased materials that I feel will support our curriculum and give my students an innovative approach to learning. I chose items for my project that will help me implement my new strategies successfully such as classroom tables that will foster collaborative work. I have also selected 5 “kid cases” for the kindle fires that I previously purchased. The chairs that I chose will allow my students to work where they are most comfortable. Lastly, I have added some Bouncy Bands to aid children who need a little more movement while they work. I want my First Graders to continue to experience the joy and wonder of learning and I know that this project will go a long way in making this happen.
