My students being on the Autism spectrum and with developmental disabilities, will benefit greatly from modified PE equipment that will help improve their spacial awareness, tactile skills and overall independency. Students will use this equipment in school, and will be able to learn continuously by each having their own piece of equipment. It is easier to practice with your own ball, rather than sharing. Students will learn a variety of skills from locomotor to playing sports in modified teams and learning to use hockey sticks. By each student having their own piece of equipment, not only I can help them in using the equipment but they can practice the skill they are learning without interruptions that would occur with them having to share equipment. Keeping my students engaged and maximizing their learning and playing time is what builds success.
