Braving the Flood! My K-1 classroom is home to 15 children that have a wide range of abilities and disabilities. However, this does not keep them from doing their BEST! The students come to school every day from a variety of backgrounds and socio-economic status but we all work hard and help each other. A month ago our school faced a big challenge. After a major winter defrost and inches of rain, our school was flooded with eight inches of water in every classroom. Our students were unable to attend school for five days. When we returned to school our classroom was housed in two local churches. The students were so excited to see each other, myself and to learn. After being out of our building for three and a half weeks we are back at Nettie Davis. I have spent numerous hours getting the room clean and ready for the children. We have lost some material items, but our learning enthusiasm remains!
