Students will be able to design and create using digital software. Then, they will see their creations come to life using 3D printing technology. I will create lessons that encourage creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students could draw a 3D character from a story, create geometric shapes, landmarks from geographical areas, or other endless possibilities for the various subjects I teach. I already have ideas to incorporate 3D printing options into Language Art, Math, Science and Social Studies projects that we do, as well as for our Social-Emotional learning components. A 3D printer and printing pens will make a difference in my students learning because my students will be able to create accurate prototypes of the solutions and models that they are creating. 3D printing will allow my students to become engaged in all of the content that they encounter because they will be able to create blueprints that can they be turned into working models of their ideas. It will allow students to demonstrate math, science, and historical concepts through tangible models that they create. Students will also be able to demonstrate problem solving by creating engineering designs that show them how their ideas work. 3D printing should be an essential part of any STEAM curriculum.
