I teach a small group of kindergarten through 5th grade students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. My students love music and movement, technology, and socializing with friends! In my classroom, we use many assistive technology solutions to encourage independence and communication, and we are always searching for ways to obtain new technology solutions to support student learning. We also incorporate a variety of sensory-based activities into our daily routine to support gross and fine motor learning and social/emotional skills. Providing ongoing sensory support helps my students to focus throughout the day and stimulates their ability to engage in academic tasks as well!

About my class
