I am honored to be a teacher in a middle school self-contained moderate disabilities classroom. I have 7 amazing students with varying disabilities. In our room we have several students, including one with autism, that have some major sensory integration issues. One student in particular never sits down, can not handle any loud noises, and struggles with different textures. In all my students are wonderfully happy and truly enjoy life despite their disabilities. We go out into the community often and are always working on providing all of the students with what they need to better meet their needs.
