Having the tablets will allow for students to practice their reading and math skills. They will be able to utilize different apps on the tablets in small groups to help them grow as learners. As I stated earlier, the students at this school are from low income families. Most of them do not have computers and tablets in their home. Technology wise, this puts them at a disadvantage to the rest of the state and the country, as much of state testing is on computers. By helping students in this low income district have access to technology most won't get at home, it is the first step to a brighter future for them. These children are our future. We want to help them succeed and grow as learners. They need all of the tools necessary to help them succeed. In addition, the privacy folders are needed during testing. As a teacher, I need to determine what skills the students are excelling at and what skills they still need help in. The folders avoid any copying from others' papers and gives me a better understanding of each student's strengths and weaknesses.
