The materials requested will add to the curriculum as an extension. We need the carpet for large group activities. The ability to include a space to allow social interactions other than the table/chairs is an asset. The materials will encourage the children to move freely after a lesson to increase their knowledge of a task. It will promote autonomy. The students' environment will be enhanced and have an array of additional materials to foster their learning. The goal is to elevate my students' understanding to prepare them for their next level in their academic learning. The supplies will contribute to education. They will help them become independent learners. The next phase in the curriculum is Animal Diversity. The books will assist with the implementation of the Science lessons which deal with the Life Cycles of animals. The math curriculum uses the base ten blocks to teach their lesson. This is the reason I requested the base ten blocks for my project to incorporate additional hands-on activities. The copy paper will help make copies of additional resources to help those students who are struggling within the curriculum.
