Every student wants to explore the possibilities of their future! My 8th grade Digital Literacy students are eager to start high school and begin to engage with technology that will help prepare them for their future. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many of these opportunities to explore are online through personalized learning made possible through videos and video-conferencing programs. The classroom set of thirty-two bluetooth headphones allows my students to make these connections by allowing them to listen in on future possibilities. In my classroom, while some students are experience the virtual-reality videos of how impact their future careers, others are exploring how becoming a digitally literate student with graphic design principles can help them create an online portfolio to showcase their achievements for employers. I have seen how these personalized experiences can impact a students love of learning on their journey to become life-long learners. This project will allow them to listen in on those future possibilities despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
