Participating in sports helps to build students' confidence! And JV volleyball is the first sport for most of my students. Most of them don't think they are athletic enough to participate in sports, so they are very excited to be playing high school volleyball. On a game day, all of my team players proudly wear volleyball jerseys for the whole day to show that they are playing sports! Parents are supportive because it is safe for their children to stay after school to play volleyball. Students improve their attendance because we practice every day. Students improve their academics because if they don't pass their courses, they cannot play the sport. They are happy that they make friends with fellow players who have the same interest. Our practice schedule is from 2:45 to 4:45 every day, but we stay until 5:30 pm almost every day because they are so happy to play. Because we are the JV team, we only get the very old and worn recreational volleyball balls, which hurt their hands when serving and passing. I would greatly appreciate if we can get real competition volleyball balls that will benefit my JV volleyball program for years to come.
