The Neorock stools, weighted vests, headphones, and pillows will help meet the individual sensory needs of our students and, in turn, ready them for fully engaging in their academic environment. All of these items are meant to be integrated into their learning and increase their ability to attend, maintain awareness of their bodies, and help calm them. For example, the Neorock stools will be used for students who need to move while completing classroom work. The weighted vests will provide gentle pressure to help calm students during times of their day with increased demands. The Neorock stools will also support increased trunk control, a skill many of our students are working to improve. By supporting our project, you will be supporting the sensory needs of a group of truly wonderful students. Therapeutic items are costly and it's grant programs such as this that make it possible to meet the needs of our students.
