My students have many things they are responsible for in our classroom, from writing tools to scissors to a variety of workbooks. Because students in kindergarten do not have desks at our school, but share a communal table, they have no place to store their materials. Various materials are stored in different places around the classroom. We waste valuable instructional minutes and risk losing focus by leaving our tables to collect supplies from around the classroom. Having easy access to our supplies in pockets on the backs of seats will help us stay focused and provide us with more time for learning. Seat pockets will help students learn responsibility and organization of their personal items.
