Educators are now teaching skills to students for jobs that do not currently exist. In an effort to prepare my students for future jobs, we have incorporated STEM into the curriculum. The Keva Plank sets will help in a variety of skills such as balance, momentum, leverage, counterbalance, velocity/mass/force relationships and quantitative math. They will also allow for students to practice vital life skills such as problem solving, innovation, & teamwork. An example project will include making a structure using spirals. They will have to problem solve how many spirals they can make and how they can affect the number of layers needed to make a complete revolution.
